  • National external quality assurance requirements

    Programmatic evaluations conducted in clusters & institutional evaluation (every 6 years). Following a positive judgement in an institutional evaluation, the planning of programmatic evaluations is terminated for a period of six years.

      address 1st (bachelor) and 2nd cycle (master) degrees.

    A fully functioning quality assurance system is in operation nationwide, in which all higher education institutions are subject to regular external quality assurance by an agency that has successfully demonstrated compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the EHEA (ESG) through registration on EQAR

  • Cross-border quality assurance

    Recognising EQAR-registered agencies as part of the national external QA requirements

    for all periodic programme evaluations

    • Eligibility requirements for foreign agencies: EQAR registration

    • Conditions for the agencies’ work (e.g. criteria to be used): own criteria (compatible with AEQES and the ESG)

    • Recognition of reviews carried out by foreign agencies: AEQES reviews the request of the higher education institution to recognise the programme evaluations carried out by the foreign agency; external QA carried out by EQAR-registered agencies go through a simplified procedure.
