In the 2017/18 academic year, the applicant started the process of merging the 3rd level
study programs of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (Mechanical Engineering,
Technical Environmental Protection, Design and Textile Materials) into the Doctoral
School of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. specializations (Mechanical Engineering,
Design and Textile Materials, Technical Environmental Protection). In the 2019/20
academic year, the first enrollment of students in the Doctoral School program of the
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was carried out.
The Doctor's study programme Doctor's school of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
is a three-year interdisciplinary study program. In form and content, the program's
composition is in accordance with legal provisions and meets the criteria according to
fields of education and scientific disciplines. General information about the program is
clear and includes clear objectives and learning outcomes.
In the academic year 2021/22, the Doctoral school of the Faculty of Mechanical
Engineering has a total of 31 students enrolled in all years, which is less than expected,
as the program has 25 advertised places for enrollment in the 1st year. study. Most of the
students are enrolled in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Students of each field can
also choose elective courses from the other two fields, as well as in other doctoral
programs and other institutions. The program is lectured and mentored by 62 higher
education teachers. All have a properly valid election to the title and in most cases meet
the conditions of co-called scientific excellence. Most of the higher education teachers
participating in the program are regularly employed at the Faculty of Mechanical
Engineering, University of Maribor. The doctoral study program also cooperates
intensively with scientific institutions in the region. The program has a large number of
elective subjects, especially in the field of Mechanical Engineering and Design and Textile
Materials, this number is high and we would suggest combining individual subjects by
carriers and content.
