Report summary
Unified master's study program Classroom instruction means upgrading the existing
undergraduate and master's study program into a rounded whole. In order to respond to
the needs of classroom teachers in primary schools, the Faculty of Education, University of
Maribor, designed a study program based on the appropriate vertical and horizontal
connection of study content. With these, the essential emphasis is on deepening the
knowledge of various professional fields and imparting special didactic knowledge in the
mentioned fields. In doing so, the designers of the study program had in mind the intention
of possessing quality knowledge in a modern society with modern tools.
The founders of the unified master's study program Classroom instruction are aware of the
importance of the educational activity of classroom teachers, which is indicated by the
content from the field of (specially) pedagogy and psychology. However, since we believe
that this is the area where the biggest problems for teachers in the Slovenian school
environment arise, it would make sense to strengthen the content related to working with
parents, establishing authority in the classroom, working with different target groups of
students, etc.
