Report summary
NTF was created when the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology of the University of
Ljubljana was transformed in 1994. It consists of four departments. The assessed study
programs are implemented in the Department of Textiles, Graphics and Design. The faculty
has appropriate material conditions for the implementation of the assessed study
programs.
Teachers are increasingly aware that they are dealing with a rapidly evolving field and are
updating their course content accordingly. However, some teaching materials are still quite
outdated and need to be updated regularly to present current learning content and reflect
the latest trends. The ratio between print and digital media subjects could also be more in
favour of more modern digital technologies.
Student-centred teaching, such as project-based learning, experimental learning,
interactive discussions, etc., is carried out in a number of subjects and is very well received
by students. Teachers who have not yet incorporated modern approaches into their
teaching should be encouraged to do so. The practical training of students in companies is
organized in an exemplary manner and represents an example of good practice.
A good quality assurance system is in place. The Quality Assurance Committee is active
and has identified priorities for improvement and building a culture of quality.
Most students do not know the student representatives. Students with special needs are
adequately addressed, but the system for informing teachers about their special needs
could be improved.
